What's New

Nissan will appeal to a new market with the release of its new commercial van the 2010 Nissan NV. This will be the first commercial vehicle that Nissan has produced. The NV line up will offer a wide range of options and trim styles while keeping a workable and practical frame.
The NV will have the option of a traditional standard roof or a higher roof that will allow more than 6’2” of interior head room, meaning most could stand fully upright in the cargo area without bending or hunching over. The rear doors of the Nissan NV swing open 243 degrees, making the new commercial van “fork-lift friendly.” Much like the Ford Transit Connect the double hinged doors are equipped with magnets that hold the doors in place so they may not be damaged by wind.
Squared off walls, 220 cubic feet of cargo area and reinforced mounting points for additional shelving allow maximum storage space. With the high-roof option, the Nissan NV provides over 300 cubic feet of cargo space.
Maryland Nissan Dealers and Delaware Nissan Dealers wanted to know small business owners would be comfortable and have a commercial van that was practical and reliable. With features like a center console fitted with hanging file folders and a large flat top, ideal for a lap-top, Nissan has brought the office to the worksite. If additional space is needed the passenger seat folds down providing more desk space that is perfect for blueprints or other papers.
The Nissan NV also comes with powertrain options like a durable 5.6L V-8 or a smaller 4.0L V-6. The new NV also comes equipped with bigger more heavy duty brake discs to handle stopping heavy payloads with ease. The 2010 Nissan NV is expected to be a huge hit with small business owners and will be available in Nissan showrooms in late 2010.

The Nissan Leaf battery electric car has been named Green Car Journal‘s 2010 Green Car Vision Award winner, as announced by Maryland Nissan dealer Preston Motors.
To be considered for the Green Car Vision Award, vehicles must be in their early stages of commercialization but not yet on sale, in small volume production with more than one functional prototype in existence, or operating as part of a demonstration fleet. A nominee may be an all-new model or an advanced adaptation of an existing model, such as a conversion to another type of power like electric drive.
“Nissan’s move to offer a stylish battery electric vehicle as part of its model line is significant,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of the Green Car Journal and editor of GreenCar.com. “This coming electric model will provide the features, the styling, and the driving experience that will meet the needs of a sophisticated and demanding market, while producing zero localized emissions and requiring no petroleum fuels.”
The award winning Nissan Leaf is available to environmentally conscious Maryland Nissan drivers later this year at Preston’s Maryland Nissan dealership.
Maryland Nissan fans will also be impressed to know that the Nissan Leaf will remain affordable, which is one of the reasons why it beat out the competition for the 2010 Green Car Vision Award. The vehicle’s cost does not exceed that of a comparable internal combustion model and the gas to run it.
“This kind of price parity is crucial to the success of any mass market advanced technology model,” said Cogan.
