Preston Nissan continues to wait eagerly for the Leaf. Nissan North America Inc. is bringing test drives of the all-electric Nissan LEAF to 26 cities across the United States, as part of Nissan’s “Drive Electric Tour.” The second phase tour kicks off today in Long Island, N.Y., on the heels of the Nissan LEAF achieving the milestone of 4,000 U.S. deliveries.
Nissan is resuming the tour, which began last fall, with a combination of new cities and return stops, due to the growing, nationwide enthusiasm for the Nissan LEAF – the first and only 100-percent electric, zero-emission vehicle available to the mass market. Since its launch in December 2010, Nissan has delivered more than 4,000 Nissan LEAF electric vehicles in the United States. The Nissan LEAF currently is available in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon and Washington, with additional markets launching later this year. To date, more than 350,000 people have expressed interest in the Nissan LEAF by signing up for updates, including information on how to purchase and reserve a vehicle, at www.NissanUSA.com.
“As the Nissan LEAF gains momentum in its U.S. rollout, more consumers have expressed the desire to get behind the wheel and experience gas-free driving for themselves,” said Jon Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, NNA. “We’re thrilled to bring the ‘Drive Electric Tour’ to new cities across the country, as well as revisit several key markets where consumer interest continues to grow.”
The Drive Electric Tour, a one-of-a-kind consumer driving experience, began in October 2010 and by March 27 had provided approximately 50,000 Nissan LEAF test drives in key markets across the country. The tour provides prospective Nissan LEAF owners the opportunity to learn about the car, its technology and features, and take it for a test drive. Current Nissan LEAF owners also are invited to participate and share their ownership experiences with others interested in electric-vehicle technology.
Interested drivers can learn more about the tour, including specific locations, and register to drive the Nissan LEAF at www.drivenissanleaf.com. Tour stops include:
July 15-17: Jersey City, N.J.
July 22-24: Hartford, Conn.
July 29-31: Boston
Aug. 5-7: Washington, D.C.
Aug. 12-14: Philadelphia

Preston Nissan is very excited that for 2012, the stylish, roomy, fun-to-drive Nissan Sentra sedan remains a versatile performer for people with busy weekday, weekend and around-the-clock lives. And, with six well-equipped models and available equipment ranging from the Bluetooth? Hands-free Phone System to the Nissan Navigation System and RearView Monitor, Sentra has the perfect combination to match any need or budget.
Nissan’s popular compact sedan is again offered in a range of models – Sentra 2.0, 2.0 S, 2.0 SR, 2.0 SL and the performance-oriented Sentra SE-R and SE-R Spec V (please see separate 2012 Sentra SE-R press materials for information on these models). Sentra 2.0 models feature a standard 140-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and a choice of 6-speed manual transmission or fuel-efficient Nissan Xtronic CVT®. Sentra SE-R is equipped with a 177-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder with Xtronic CVT® and SE-R Spec V offers a potent 200-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder and a 6-speed manual transmission (for full information on the 2012 Sentra SE-R please see the separate press materials, available at NissanNews.com).
Enhancements for 2012 include a new Technology Package, which is offered with the Sentra 2.0 S. In addition, three packages that were introduced late in the 2011 model year for the Sentra 2.0 SR continue into 2012 – the Moonroof Package, Technology Package and Special Edition Package. The Special Edition package combines all of the features of the Moonroof Package, Technology Package and Convenience Package at a substantial savings over what those packages would cost individually. In addition, one new exterior color is offered, Red Alert (replaces Lava Red).
Sentra is again available with a variety of unexpected amenities – ranging from the luxury of leather-appointed seating to the convenience of Nissan’s Intelligent Key® keyless entry and ignition system and Nissan Navigation System with 5.0-inch color screen and XM NavTraffic® Real-Time Traffic Information (XM® subscription required, sold separately).
“Sentra once again meets and exceeds all the expectations buyers in the compact sedan segment have – good fuel economy, durability, safety, reliability and affordability,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. “Sentra, however, goes far beyond that with a completely unexpected level of style, roominess, responsiveness and versatility – attributes that set Sentra apart in the segment.”
Designed for Active Lifestyles
Built on Nissan’s global “C” platform, Sentra’s exterior reflects Nissan design language and offers styling cues found on other distinctive Nissan products. The profile includes a long wheelbase, short front and rear overhangs, crisp character lines and large door openings, while in the rear the high deck accentuates the roomy cabin and cargo area.
The Sentra 2.0 SR adds a sporty appearance with a unique grille, front and rear sport fascias, side sill spoilers, rear decklid spoiler with integrated brake light, sport headlights and taillights, driving lights, exhaust finisher, and SE-R style rear decklid spoiler with integrated LED high–mounted stop light.
Nine exterior colors are available: Metallic Blue, Blue Onyx, Espresso Black, Red Alert, Brilliant Silver, Magnetic Gray, Super Black, Red Brick and Aspen White.
Inside, the interior continues the sporty, functional theme of the exterior, with the use of high quality materials, large gauges and a spacious, flexible center console. All Sentra models receive cloth seat trim with available leather-appointed seating and heated front seats on 2.0 SL.
The instrument panel offers chrome HVAC knob accents, coin holder, reddish orange illumination color. A 4.3-inch color display is standard on Sentra 2.0 SL.
Sentra’s interior is designed to comfortably accommodate five full-size adults, with an ample passenger volume of 97.7 cubic feet. Along with the roomy, social space of the interior, Sentra’s trunk provides 13.1 cubic feet of cargo space. With the 60/40-split double-fold rear seat (the bottom cushion folds forward, allowing the seat back to fold down flat), Sentra offers exceptional cargo flexibility for carrying long, bulky items such as snowboards, hockey sticks and even bikes.
Other storage solutions include a rear seat armrest with cupholders that can accommodate a 20-ounce bottle and 32-ounce drink cup, extra instrument panel storage next to the driver’s door, and a large glove compartment that can fit a 8×11-inch writing tablet or a large-sized map book. The center console offers multiple storage options, including an adjustable cup holder design and cell phone space.
Along with ample roominess, Sentra is offered a wide array of premium equipment, including available Nissan Intelligent Key® keyless entry and ignition system, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System and premium Rockford Fosgate-powered audio system with 8 speakers. An Interface System for iPod® is standard on all Sentra models except Sentra 2.0.
Responsive, Fun-to-Drive Performance
Sentra’s powerful 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine designed to combine responsive acceleration with good fuel economy and efficient operation. It is mated to a standard Xtronic CVT® or 6-speed manual transmission (Sentra 2.0 only).
The advanced 2.0-liter Nissan MR20DE engine has an aluminum block and is designed to offer an exceptional balance of responsive acceleration, excellent low and mid-range torque and increased thermal efficiency. The engine is rated at 140 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. Up to 90 percent of the torque is achieved by 2,400 rpm – providing comfortable driving and excellent fuel consumption in real world driving.
Fuel economy is rated at 27/34 miles per gallon City/Highway with the CVT and 24/31 City/Highway miles per gallon with the 6-speed manual transmission (Sentra 2.0 only).
The 2012 Sentra also offers responsive handling. The front suspension is an independent strut design with coil springs and stabilizer bar. The rear features a torsion beam with integral stabilizer bar, with the rear shock absorbers mounted below the trunk floor for improved trunk roominess. Sentra’s ride comfort is enhanced through use of special “ripple control” shock absorbers, an insulated front cradle-type subframe with pendulum engine mount system, roller-type front strut bearings and large, tuned rear beam isolators.

When the original Nissan Titan full-size pickup was first introduced it sent shock waves through the segment with its innovative bed design, high standard of interior comfort and convenience features and, of course, its rugged truck frame and powerful 317-horsepower Nissan Endurance V8 engine. Entering the 2011 model year, the popular Titan continues to set the bar high. Following a number of enhancements for 2010, the Nissan Titan full-size pickup features additional refinements to the optional equipment package content. In addition, the previous Titan SE model has been replaced with the Titan SV and the previous Titan LE model is now named the Titan SL. For 2011, the Titan four-model lineup consists of S, SV, PRO-4X and SL.
Other revisions for 2011 include adding a “4×4” tailgate badge added to Titan S, SV and SL 4×4 models, and the previous PRO-4X/LE Technology and Entertainment package is now the PRO-4X/SL Technology Package (Crew Cab) with moonroof, navigation, flip-down 8-inch LCD display and DVD player with remote, auxiliary input and wireless headsets
The 2011 Titan is offered in King Cab and Crew Cab body styles with a choice of 4×4 and 4×2 drive configurations, along with two wheelbases (138.9 inches and 159.5 inches) and three bed lengths. Titan is also available as a Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) designed to run on E85 Ethanol.
Titan is built on Nissan’s rugged F-Alpha pickup platform, featuring a powerful 5.6-liter DOHC Endurance V8 rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft torque. Titan features a standard 5-speed automatic transmission and a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds for King Cab and 9,400 pounds for Crew Cab (when properly equipped).
Titan again offers innovative features such as Wide-Open rear doors (King Cab) that open 168 degrees for nearly unlimited interior access, a utility bed that includes a segment-first factory-applied spray-on bedliner, a Utili-track™ Bed Channel System that provides ultimate cargo hauling flexibility and an integrated, lockable bedside storage compartment.
A High Utility Bed with Utili-Track™Bed Channel System
The Titan exterior is again anchored by a distinctive, powerful front end and cab appearance and an innovative high utility bed design. Titan King Cab offers a 138.9-inch wheelbase and 6-foot 6-inch bed, while the Titan Crew Cab features a 138.9-inch wheelbase and 5-foot 7-inch bed. The Crew Cab SV Long Wheelbase model features a 159.5-inch wheelbase and a 7-foot 3-inch bed, nearly 20 inches longer than the standard wheelbase Crew Cab bed and the longest in class. All Titans feature a 28-gallon fuel tank, providing an excellent driving range.
Titan King Cab models also feature Wide-Open rear doors, which open 168 degrees for greatly improved rear cab access. Key to the door’s design is a hefty, two-stage hinge with four axis of rotation. The doors open first to a conventional 85 degrees, then can be swung the rest of the way for easy loading and unloading of cargo or passengers.
Titan’s available spray-on bedliner (standard on SL models) helps prevent scratch damage and corrosion to the bed and inner tailgate surface. Thinner than drop-in bedliners or typical aftermarket spray-on applications, the Titan bedliner also maximizes bed volume. It was the first offered by any original equipment manufacturer and is covered by the Nissan warranty – unlike aftermarket bedliner systems.
A Powerful, Refined Engine with Outstanding Towing Power
The 2011 Nissan Titan again utilizes a rugged, fully boxed high-strength all-steel F-Alpha platform for enhanced crash performance and long-term durability. Every Titan comes equipped with Nissan’s advanced Endurance V8 as standard equipment. The all-aluminum 5.6-liter V8 engine is rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque and utilizes an aluminum block with cast iron cylinder liners, forged steel crankshaft, microfinished crankshaft and camshaft, graphite-coated pistons, 6-bolt main bearing caps, and Super Silent single-stage timing chain.
Titan is available with Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) technology as a no-cost option (available in certain regions only). Equipped with a common fuel tank designed to run on varying blends of gasoline with ethanol (up to E85), Titan FFV offers an alternative to conventional gasoline.
Titan’s standard 5-speed automatic transmission is designed especially for heavy-duty truck use, with emphasis on serious towing and smooth shift quality. A transmission temperature gauge is included in the meter cluster on SV, PRO-4X and SL models. An Active Brake Limited-Slip Differential (2-wheel or 4-wheel) is standard on both 4×2 and 4×4 models.
Titan 4X4 models adapt an advanced shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive system with 2WD/4HI/4LO modes with electronic control part-time transfer case. Titan features a maximum towing capacity of 9,500 pounds for King Cab and 9,400 pounds for Crew Cab (when properly equipped) – as much as some 3/4-ton pickups.
A Comfortable, Highly Refined Interior
Titan’s interior features refined styling and two interior configurations – a bench seat with column shifter (seats six) or two front bucket seats with a large center console and gated floor shifter (seats five). The bench seat is standard on S and SV models, while captains seats are standard on the PRO-4X and SL models and available as part of the SV Value Truck Package (SV models).
The bucket seat-equipped Titan’s center console can hold a variety of beverage containers, including a 1-liter bottle. A 12-volt adapter is equipped in the storage area and can be used as a power source for a phone or other electronic devices. The console offers a variety of storage choices, with size adjusted by simply removing or adding dividers. The console’s storage box can also accommodate hanging file folders and contains holders for maps, paper, pens and business cards on the console lid.
An available overhead console system gives passengers more storage options. The console houses rear audio controls and also contains storage bins for both front and rear passengers for items like sunglasses, CDs, cell phone, PDA or a small tissue box. Titan features an available fold-flat front passenger seat that allows extra versatility and can also be used as a working area. Also available are power-adjustable front seats (8-way driver’s seat, 4-way passenger’s seat), a driver’s seat memory system and heated seats. Titan also offers available power-adjustable foot pedals with memory. Crew Cab PRO-4X and SL models offer an optional rear-seat DVD Entertainment System with fold-down 8.0-inch monitor.
